Brush Experimentation

When I scanned and uploaded my activity pages to Photoshop, the colour didn't translate very well. Consequently I had to refine and enhance my pages digitally, experimenting with a selection of the brushes available on Photoshop.
Experimenting with Different Brushes

I elected to investigate an array of brushes that had a slight textured/stippled effect. By using a textured brush, that has similar properties to those of colouring pencils, I discovered it was easier to refine my sketches, whilst still maintaining a similar texture of to the one I favoured in my original/analogue work.

Chosen Brushes

The above brushes are the ones I opted to take forward for my amendments. I favoured the Gouache Bristle Super Dry and the Pastella Brushes were effective for re-colouring my drawings, whilst the Gouache Detail Round Brush was preferable for outlining my characters and puzzles. Penultimately, by using the latter brush, instead of a Hard Round Brush, I avoided making my characters appear harsh. Ultimately, I was still able to give the impression that my finished work was completed with colouring pencils.
